Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to recognize and honor 65 leading exporters and compliant taxpayers in an award ceremony scheduled to take place at the PM Office today.

The ceremony will feature the distribution of approximately 40 awards to prominent exporters from sectors such as textile, sports, surgical goods, pharmaceuticals, foods, steel, and others.

In the category of compliant taxpayers, awards will be given to individuals and entities who have contributed significantly through income tax payments to companies, Association of Persons (AOPs), and individual taxpayers.

The government has also identified Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and first-time filers who have made substantial deposits into the national treasury. The Prime Minister will announce special incentives for those who have made substantial contributions to the national revenue.

Additionally, the Prime Minister is expected to announce packages for tax officers during his speech at the ceremony.

In related developments, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has mandated online integration for businesses in fourteen major categories, including health clubs, gyms, swimming pools, and clubs like Lahore Gymkhana and Islamabad Club. These businesses are required to apply for licenses and install Point of Sale (POS) systems. The FBR aims to ensure compliance and proper functioning of the integrated systems through regular monitoring and inspection.
